On Monday, June 13th, two mentees from DonCARES of Philadelphia, Inc. earned their high school diplomas from The U School in North Philadelphia. DonCARES mentees: Sequoi and Christian were among the graduates.
DonCARES mentee Sequoi and DonCARES Executive Director Donovan Forrest met in January 2019. From 2019 to 2020, Donovan and Sequoi worked on homework assignments, applied for jobs, shadowed at Temple, and talked about Sequoi's love for music.
DonCARES Founder Donovan Forrest is proud of his mentee as Sequoi earns his high school diploma and plans to attend Community College of Philadelphia in the Fall.

Christian and former DonCARES Mentor Mu Hernandez met in March 2020. While the Covid-19 pandemic shifted plans for the program, Christian continued to receive support from DonCARES and ultimately earned Mentee of the Month for April 2022.
During their time at The U School, Sequoi and Christian attended one-on-one and group mentoring sessions at DonCARES. Surprisingly, Christian's brother, a student at Samuel Fels High School in Oxford Circle, Philadelphia received services through DonCARES in December 2019 during a Resume Workshop Forrest hosted.
