How long have you been a member of DonCARES?

I've been a member of DonCARES since March of 2018

What is your favorite thing about spending time with your mentee?

My favorite thing about spending time with my mentee was reading a series he's writing. He always valued my opinion on it and just seeing how bright his imagination is was something I looked forward to on a weekly basis.

What has being in a mentoring relationship taught you about yourself?

Being in a mentor relationship taught me that I am very resilient and very patient.

What advice do you have for prospective mentors?

I'd advise them to always make sure they visit once a week even if they don't feel like going because the students need that positive light in their lives and we can provide it.

What do you like most about DonCARES?

I like how a small group of individuals can have such a major impact on the lives of others and I'd recommend that more college students of color would join this family as we seek to broaden our horizon.
